Secretary Blinken Heads to Australia for Quad Meeting

Discussions will include Chinese aggression in the region.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Australia from February 9-12 to meet with other Quad nation leaders (Australia, India, and Japan). China has continued to expand its military in the Indo-Pacific region, and multiple countries in the area are concerned.

The secretary will “engage with Indo-Pacific allies and partners to advance peace, resilience, and prosperity across the region and demonstrate that these partnerships deliver, “ the State Department announced. In Australia, “Secretary Blinken will meet with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Foreign Minister Marise Payne, Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Hayashi Yoshimasa, Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and other senior officials to discuss a range of bilateral and global priorities.”

After his time in Australia, Secretary Blinken will also visit Fiji and Honolulu, Hawaii, and meet with Indo-Pacific leaders to strengthen relationships.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary of State Blinken as he meets with other Quad leaders.
  • For wisdom for these international officials as they discuss security threats in the Indo-Pacific.
  • For the president and his administration to seek the Lord’s guidance as tensions increase around the globe.
